Dr. Brian Roberts graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 1996. He then completed an internship at The Animal Medical Center in NYC, the busiest small animal hospital in the world at that time. After completion of his internship, he became the ER director for Veterinary Specialists of South Florida where he also completed his residency training program in emergency and critical care. Dr. Roberts was the staff criticalist, ER director and mentor for both residents and interns in-training at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida for over 10 years. In 2011, Dr. Roberts joined the faculty of St. Matthew’s University, School of Veterinary Medicine where he was a professor of small animal medicine. He became the Head of the Department of Clinical Sciences and remained with the university for 5 years. Dr. Roberts joined MEAC in December of 2016 and serves as the Medical Director. He provides daytime referral services for emergency and critical care cases. Dr. Roberts performs ultrasonography of the chest and abdomen along with special procedures such as endoscopy and rhinoscopy. Dr. Roberts lives in Blairsville with his wife of 21 years, Sarah, and their 3 children (Landon, Nathan, and Ashlyn) The family has 2 pets who were all adopted from shelters: Trixie, a 6 year-old Havanese mix, Joy-Joy a 6 year-old Tuxedo cat and their newest addition, Izzy, a 10 month-old tabby.
